Microsoft expands access to its Copilot AI assistant by making the Voice and Think Deeper features completely free for all users. The Voice capability allows people to have natural spoken conversations with the AI, while Think Deeper uses OpenAI's o1 model to break down complex questions like evaluating the long-term value of major home purchases.
The company states that it works hard to bring unlimited access to advanced features to as many people as quickly as possible. However, free users may experience delays or interruptions when they try to use these tools during periods of high traffic on the platform.
Despite this new free tier of access, Microsoft still maintains clear benefits for its paying Copilot Pro subscribers. Paid members receive preferred access to the latest AI models during those busy peak times and get exclusive early access to new features that remain in the experimental stage.
