Microsoft introduces new Surface computers equipped with Qualcomm chips that run artificial intelligence features locally without draining battery life. The company announces a Surface Laptop and a Surface Pro tablet that adhere to its new Copilot+ standard, allowing users to execute certain AI tasks without requiring an internet connection.
These new devices rely on Arm-based Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite and X Plus processors to deliver improved efficiency and extended battery life. Major computer manufacturers including Lenovo, Dell, HP, Asus, Acer, and Samsung are also launching their own AI-ready PCs powered by these same advanced Qualcomm chips.
In addition to the Qualcomm-powered models, Microsoft confirms that upcoming computers featuring AMD and Intel chips will also join the Copilot+ lineup. All of these AI-focused machines are designed to seamlessly run Microsoft's Copilot AI chatbot while maintaining the long battery life that mobile users demand.
