Mobileye Founder's AI Banking Startup One Zero Raises $100M

One Zero, an AI-driven retail banking startup co-founded by Mobileye's Amnon Shashua, is raising at least $100 million in a new funding round. The company aims to bring private banking services to the masses despite recent layoffs and curtailed expansion due to the war in Israel.

One Zero, an AI-powered fintech startup co-founded by Mobileye creator Amnon Shashua, is currently raising at least $100 million in new funding. The company previously raises around $242 million and achieves a $320 million valuation in 2023, but sources indicate this new round values the business significantly higher at a pre-money estimate of $400 million to $450 million. Previous backers include Tencent, OurCrowd, and SBI Ventures.

The startup focuses on using artificial intelligence to democratize private banking by bringing high-touch advisory services to everyday retail consumers. Gal Bar Dea serves as the active CEO, while Shashua maintains a non-executive role as he simultaneously pursues other ambitious AI ventures like humanoid robotics firm Mentee, AI21 Labs, and his new "AI scientist" project AA-I Technologies.

One Zero navigates significant headwinds as it secures this new capital, including a failed funding attempt last year and operational impacts from the ongoing war with Hamas. The conflict forces the Israeli company to lay off employees and halt its international expansion plans, even as it experiences enough domestic growth to attract substantial new investor interest.
