Navistar and TuSimple Join Forces to Build Self-Driving Trucks by 2024

Navistar and TuSimple announce a strategic partnership to co-develop SAE Level 4 autonomous trucks for mass production by 2024. As part of this expanded agreement, Navistar takes a minority stake in the self-driving technology company to solidify their collaborative efforts.
The two companies build on a successful two-year technical relationship to create a fully integrated engineering solution. Navistar leverages its 113 years of commercial vehicle manufacturing experience, while TuSimple contributes its innovative autonomous driving technology to the joint venture.
Customers will be able to purchase these fully self-driving Class 8 trucks through Navistar's traditional sales channels in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. This partnership accelerates TuSimple's goal to transform the massive North American trucking industry with scalable autonomous solutions.
