Neuralink Demonstrates Brain Implant in Live Pigs

Elon Musk reveals a functioning brain implant inside a living pig named Gertrude during a livestreamed event. The small device, which resembles a keychain attached to a large coin, successfully records the animal's brain activity and translates it into audio beeps as she sniffs around her pen.
The demonstration shows that the technology works at a basic level inside a living creature. Musk explains that the implant accurately predicts the positions of the pig's limbs, and the presentation includes a pig with multiple implants and another that has the device safely removed without neurological damage.
Neuralink aims to eventually use this brain-computer interface to restore brain functions in humans suffering from conditions like blindness and paralysis. However, the technology remains in its early stages, has not undergone human testing, and faces significant technological and regulatory hurdles before it reaches the public.
