New Mac App Simplifies Local AI Image Generation With Stable Diffusion
Diffusion Bee is a free application that allows M1 and M2 Mac users to generate AI images locally using Stable Diffusion without needing any technical expertise.
Diffusion Bee is a new Mac application that makes AI image generation accessible to everyone by removing the technical barriers typically associated with Stable Diffusion. Developed by Divam Gupta, the app installs via a simple drag-and-drop process and runs entirely locally on Apple Silicon, meaning users do not send any data to external servers.
The software takes full advantage of the built-in AI capabilities of M1 and M2 Macs running macOS 15.2 or later. Users simply type a text prompt to generate images, and the application provides customizable settings such as image dimensions, generation steps, and a guidance scale to control how closely the AI follows the prompt.
While increasing these parameters allows for more refined results, it significantly extends the time required to create each image. Despite this potential slowdown, Diffusion Bee remains an extremely easy and completely free way for Mac owners to experiment with open-source AI image generation from the comfort of their own devices.
