By crafting a dataset of highly realistic AI-generated images, NVIDIA gives experts crucial test data to evaluate how well their detection algorithms spot synthetic media created by previously unseen techniques.

Building detectors that can identify images from brand-new AI models is a significant challenge, as it is relatively easy to catch fakes when researchers already know the underlying code of the generator.
