Nvidia Expands AI Footprint in India Through Major Corporate Partnerships

Nvidia forms strategic partnerships with Reliance, Tech Mahindra, and other Indian firms to deploy AI chips and develop localized language models. The move signals a shift as India transitions from a software export hub to an AI-driven technology leader.

Nvidia deepens its presence in India by partnering with major Indian corporations to deploy its advanced AI chips and software. CEO Jensen Huang announces a strategic collaboration with Reliance to build AI infrastructure, while Tech Mahindra leverages Nvidia's technology to develop Indus 2.0, a specialized AI model in Hindi. Infrastructure giants Tata Communications and Yotta Data Services also commit to purchasing tens of thousands of Nvidia H100 chips by the end of the year.

Indian IT service providers rapidly embrace Nvidia's platforms to build custom AI applications for their corporate clients. Wipro trains an impressive 225,000 employees on Nvidia's AI systems, and Tata Consultancy Services certifies 50,000 staff as AI associates. Furthermore, e-commerce leader Flipkart and software firm Zoho join the initiative to construct large language models tailored for Hindi speakers, building on Nvidia's existing tie-ups with Reliance for Indian language AI.

Huang envisions a major economic shift, stating that India evolves from a software-exporting nation into a global exporter of artificial intelligence. Over 500,000 Indian developers currently participate in Nvidia's developer program, highlighting the massive talent pool the chipmaker cultivates to compete against rivals AMD and Intel. Startups like CoRover.ai already demonstrate this potential, with an Nvidia-powered chatbot handling 150,000 daily queries for Indian Railways across multiple languages.
