Nvidia Forecasts $1 Trillion in Orders as Vera Rubin and Groq Chips Debut
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang projects $1 trillion in purchase orders for Blackwell and Vera Rubin chips through 2027, doubling last year's estimate. The company also unveils its new Groq 3 LPU chip to handle surging AI inference demands.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang announces at the GTC conference that purchase orders between the Blackwell and Vera Rubin chip lines reach an expected $1 trillion through 2027. This massive projection doubles the $500 billion estimate the company shared last year, reflecting an incredible surge in demand from both startups and massive tech enterprises.
The company currently enjoys 11 straight quarters of revenue growth above 55 percent, with quarterly revenue expected to surge about 77 percent to roughly $78 billion. This explosive growth stems from a shift toward agentic AI applications that spawn other agents to complete tasks, causing token generation to skyrocket and driving a massive need for faster inference speeds.
To address these immense workloads and growing energy concerns, Nvidia prepares to roll out the Vera Rubin system later this year, which promises ten times more performance per watt than Grace Blackwell. Additionally, Huang unveils the Groq 3 Language Processing Unit, the first chip from the startup Nvidia mostly acquired for $20 billion in December, with shipments expected in the third quarter.
