Nvidia invests $2 billion in AI cloud company Nebius Group, causing Nebius shares to jump 16%. The two companies plan to collaborate closely on AI infrastructure deployment, fleet management, inference, and AI factory design. As part of the agreement, Nebius receives early access to Nvidia's latest accelerated computing platform.
This massive investment supports Nebius as it aims to deploy more than five gigawatts of capacity by the end of 2030. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang says Nebius is building an AI cloud designed for the agentic era that integrates everything from silicon to software. The partnership exists to scale the cloud and meet the surging global demand for artificial intelligence.
This $2 billion deal is part of a much broader investment strategy by Nvidia. Over the past few months, the chipmaker announces similar $2 billion stakes in Lumentum, Coherent, Synopsys, and CoreWeave. Nvidia also recently makes a significant investment in Mira Murati’s Thinking Machines Lab and contributes $30 billion to OpenAI's massive funding round.
