NVIDIA Launches CUDA-X AI Platform to Accelerate End-to-End Data Science

NVIDIA unveils CUDA-X AI, a new platform designed to speed up machine learning and data science workloads by up to 50x using Tensor Core GPUs. Major cloud providers and hardware vendors are immediately integrating the technology into their servers and services.

NVIDIA introduces CUDA-X AI at the GPU Technology Conference as the only end-to-end platform for accelerating data science. The platform consists of specialized acceleration libraries that unlock the power of NVIDIA's Tensor Core GPUs to handle the entire AI pipeline. According to NVIDIA, these libraries speed up machine learning and data science workloads by up to 50x.

Major hardware vendors partner with NVIDIA to release NGC-Ready validated T4 servers fine-tuned for CUDA-X AI. Companies like Cisco, Dell EMC, HPE, and Lenovo announce specific server models built to run these acceleration libraries. Additional partners are currently working through the NGC validation process for their own T4 server systems.

Cloud providers quickly adopt the new technology to offer enhanced AI capabilities to their users. AWS launches new EC2 G4 instances featuring NVIDIA T4 GPUs paired with CUDA-X AI libraries. Meanwhile, Microsoft Azure integrates RAPIDS, a core component of CUDA-X AI, into its Azure Machine Learning service to drastically reduce AI model training times from days to minutes.
