Nvidia Launches Omniverse Platform for Collaborative 3D World Building
Nvidia removes the beta label from its Omniverse platform, making the collaborative virtual world-building tool generally available. The update introduces cloud sharing features and direct integrations with major 3D asset marketplaces.
Nvidia officially releases its Omniverse platform out of beta, making the collaborative virtual world-building tool generally available to creators and engineers. The platform connects various design tools and assets into a single shared ecosystem, and it already boasts nearly 100,000 downloads as it transitions to this full commercial release.
The latest update introduces Omniverse Nucleus Cloud, a service that allows teams to collaborate on massive 3D scenes just like they would on a shared cloud document, eliminating the need to transfer huge amounts of data for minor edits. Additionally, Nvidia integrates popular 3D marketplaces like TurboSquid, CGTrader, and Sketchfab directly into the Omniverse Launcher so users can easily purchase and import ready-made assets.
The company also expands its free offerings by adding new characters and objects from games like Shadow Warrior 3 and Mount & Blade II to the Omniverse Machinima library. Furthermore, the AI-driven Audio2Face application now supports blendshapes and enables direct exports to Epic's MetaHuman Creator, making it easier than ever to generate realistic facial animations from simple audio tracks.
