NVIDIA officially unveils the Titan RTX, its new flagship graphics card that boasts 72 Turing RT and 4,608 CUDA cores. Unlike previous consumer-focused Titan models, this GPU features a massive 24GB of GDDR6 VRAM and carries a hefty $2,500 price tag. The hardware closely mirrors the expensive Quadro RTX 6000 workstation card but costs less than half the price.
The company designs the Titan RTX primarily for AI researchers, data scientists, and creative professionals who need extensive memory for large simulations and complex 3D rendering. Users who require even more power can purchase an $80 NVLink Bridge to connect two Titan RTX cards together, effectively doubling the available VRAM and increasing the total bandwidth to 100 GB/s.
While the card targets professional workloads, it still delivers impressive gaming performance that is 10 to 20 percent faster than the RTX 2080 Ti. The Titan RTX shares a strong physical and architectural resemblance to NVIDIA's consumer RTX gaming family, making it an appealing, albeit highly expensive, option for gamers with deep pockets.
