NVIDIA announces a major initiative to manufacture its artificial intelligence supercomputers entirely within the United States. The company partners with five other electronics manufacturers, including TSMC, Foxconn, Wistron, Amkor, and SPIL, to establish a robust domestic supply chain for its AI-focused Blackwell computing chips.
The coalition commissions over a million square feet of manufacturing space across Arizona and Texas to build and test these advanced semiconductors. Operating on a four-year timeline, the project aims to produce up to half a trillion dollars of AI infrastructure domestically while creating hundreds of thousands of American jobs.
NVIDIA plans to use digital twin simulations to design and manage the new facilities, relying on robotics to automate the manufacturing processes. CEO Jensen Huang states that this move allows the company to meet the growing demand for AI chips, strengthen the supply chain, and boost overall resiliency by building the engines of global AI infrastructure on American soil.
