Nvidia Unveils Cloud Engine to Simplify Metaverse Avatar Creation
Nvidia introduces the Omniverse Avatar Cloud Engine to help enterprises easily build interactive digital assistants for the metaverse. The announcement coincides with partnerships aimed at expanding the universal scene description framework.
Nvidia introduces a suite of new tools designed to help organizations easily create content for the metaverse. At the Siggraph 2022 conference, CEO Jensen Huang reveals the Omniverse Avatar Cloud Engine (ACE), which provides cloud-based AI models and services for building interactive digital assistants. This push aligns with industry predictions that the metaverse market will exceed $50 billion in the next four years.
The Avatar Cloud Engine enables users to develop avatars that understand multiple languages, interact with their surroundings, and respond intelligently to various prompts. Nvidia executives emphasize that realistic, human-like representations are essential for a vibrant metaverse. By offering these capabilities through the cloud, Nvidia removes significant technical barriers that previously prevent enterprises from adopting avatar technology.
In addition to the avatar engine, Nvidia outlines plans to evolve the universal scene description (USD) framework alongside partners like Pixar. USD serves as a critical foundation for visual effects, architecture, robotics, and design within 3D environments. Together, these advancements demonstrate Nvidia's commitment to making metaverse development tools widely accessible to creators and businesses alike.
