NVIDIA Unveils Four New Ampere GPUs for Data Centers and Workstations

NVIDIA expands its Ampere lineup with the A10, A16, A4000, and A5000 PCIe GPUs. The new cards replace older Tesla and GRID branding to unify the company's data center and workstation offerings.

NVIDIA introduces four new Ampere-based PCIe GPUs at GTC 2021, signaling a major shift in how the company brands its professional hardware. By retiring the legacy Tesla and GRID names, NVIDIA unifies its data center and workstation product lines under a single, streamlined naming convention that simplifies the purchasing process for enterprise customers.

The A10 and A16 target data center environments and lack display outputs entirely. The A10 operates as a 150W, single-slot card with 24GB of GDDR6 memory, offering a significant performance uplift over the previous T4 generation. The A16 packs four separate Ampere GPUs onto a single PCIe card, providing a total of 64GB of memory to deliver high-density virtualized desktop infrastructure capabilities.

These new additions provide IT administrators with flexible deployment options for AI inference and virtual workloads. With support for advanced vGPU software profiles and modern security features like hardware root of trust, the A10 and A16 address the growing demand for efficient, space-saving server accelerators in increasingly dense computing environments.
