NVIDIA Unveils Free Omniverse Platform and 3D Collaboration Tools at CES
NVIDIA makes its Omniverse 3D creation platform free for individual RTX GPU users and introduces new cloud collaboration features at CES 2022. The updates include easy asset sharing, integrations with major 3D marketplaces, and expanded AI-driven animation tools.
NVIDIA unveils a free version of its Omniverse 3D creation platform for individual creators using GeForce RTX and NVIDIA RTX GPUs during its CES 2022 keynote. This real-time design collaboration and virtual world simulation tool allows artists and designers to build 3D assets and scenes directly from their laptops or workstations. The release opens up professional-grade rendering, physics, and AI technologies to millions of users worldwide.
The tech giant introduces Omniverse Nucleus Cloud, a feature that enables simple, one-click collaboration on massive 3D scenes without transferring large datasets. Changes reflect instantly for all connected users, much like a shared cloud document. Additionally, NVIDIA partners with leading 3D marketplaces like TurboSquid, CGTrader, and Sketchfab to offer thousands of ready-to-use assets directly within the Omniverse Launcher.
NVIDIA also expands its creative tools with updates to Omniverse Machinima and Audio2Face. Machinima now provides free characters and environments from popular games like Mechwarrior 5 and Shadow Warrior 3 so users can easily recreate game cinematics. Meanwhile, Audio2Face enhances its AI-driven app by adding blendshape support, allowing creators to generate realistic 3D facial animations from a simple audio track.
