Nvidia Unveils Project Digits, a $3,000 Desktop AI Supercomputer

Nvidia reveals Project Digits at CES 2025, a compact desktop machine that brings the company's Grace Blackwell hardware platform directly to individual users. The device functions as a personal AI supercomputer that runs the entire Nvidia software stack and operates as a standalone workstation or connects to a primary Windows or Mac computer. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang describes it as a cloud computing platform that sits conveniently on a desk.

The system is powered by the new GB10 Grace Blackwell Superchip, which Nvidia developed in partnership with MediaTek, and includes a Blackwell GPU connected to a 20-core Grace CPU. Project Digits features 128GB of memory and up to 4TB of flash storage, delivering up to a petaflop of computing performance. A single unit handles AI models with up to 200 billion parameters, while linking two machines together allows users to run massive 405-billion-parameter models.

Designed specifically for AI researchers, data scientists, and students, Project Digits runs on Nvidia's Linux-based DGX OS and launches in May for $3,000. While this high price point keeps the device out of reach for casual consumers, Nvidia believes there is a significant market among developers who need to prototype, fine-tune, and run large AI models locally. Huang envisions this desktop supercomputer empowering millions of developers to actively shape the future of AI.
