OnePlus officially unveils the mid-range Nord smartphone, marking a return to affordable devices with prices starting at 399 euros. However, the phone skips a direct US launch and lacks guaranteed carrier compatibility in America.
OnePlus reveals the pricing and release details for the new OnePlus Nord during a virtual event, introducing a budget-friendly line that returns the company to its affordable roots. This device aims to deliver essential midrange smartphone features at a surprisingly low cost, filling a role that the brand has not occupied since its early days.
The smartphone comes in two colors, Gray Onyx and Blue Marble, and offers two distinct configurations. The base model features 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage for 399 euros, while the upgraded version includes 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage for 499 euros.
Consumers in India, parts of Europe, and the UK are able to purchase the device online through the OnePlus store and Amazon starting August 4. Buyers in the United States, however, cannot buy the phone directly and face potential issues with domestic carrier data compatibility.
