Previously, interested users had to join a long waitlist to gain access, but now anyone can sign up freely. Over 1.5 million people are already using the platform to create AI-generated art, and that number is sure to skyrocket with this new open access.
New users sign up easily using an email address, Google account, or Microsoft account. OpenAI provides 50 free credits for the first month, followed by 15 free credits each subsequent month. Since each credit generates a set of four images from a single text prompt, users have plenty of opportunities to experiment with the technology before deciding to purchase additional credits.
DALL-E 2 is widely credited with sparking the massive boom in AI image generation throughout 2022.
