OpenAI Introduces Chat History Toggle and Data Export for ChatGPT

OpenAI introduces new privacy controls for ChatGPT, allowing users to turn off their chat history entirely. This change arrives after recent privacy concerns and regulatory blocks in countries like Italy, giving users a direct way to manage their data.
When users disable chat history, OpenAI confirms that it does not use those conversations to train or improve its AI models. The company still retains these chats for 30 days to monitor for abuse, but it permanently deletes them after that review period.
In addition to the history toggle, OpenAI rolls out a data export option so users can download their conversations and related information via email. The company also reveals plans for a ChatGPT Business subscription in the coming months, which promises even stricter data usage policies by default.
