Invited users receive 50 free credits in their first month, followed by 15 free credits monthly, to generate prompts or edit images. Over 3,000 artists from 118 countries have already tested the system to create magazine covers, music videos, and other creative projects. The beta also introduces practical features like Edit, which alters images using text descriptions, Variations, which generates inspired alternatives, and My Collection, which saves generated artwork directly on the platform.
To ensure safe deployment, OpenAI implements updated safety systems that prevent the generation of misleading information. The platform prohibits image uploads containing realistic faces and blocks attempts to imitate famous people or influential politicians. These preventative measures aim to reduce the risk of abuse as the powerful image-generation tool becomes widely available to the public.
