OpenAI Launches DALL-E 3 With ChatGPT Integration and Artist Opt-Out

OpenAI introduces DALL-E 3, a new image generator that uses ChatGPT to write and refine prompts automatically. The updated tool also features improved image quality and allows artists to opt out of AI training data.

OpenAI unveils DALL-E 3, an upgraded text-to-image tool that integrates directly with ChatGPT to simplify the image creation process. Instead of struggling with complex prompt engineering, users simply type a basic request and the chatbot automatically expands it into a detailed description to guide the AI.

The new model delivers notably higher-quality images that accurately reflect user prompts, especially when handling longer text descriptions. Additionally, DALL-E 3 overcomes common AI image generation hurdles by rendering difficult elements like text and human hands with much greater precision.

To address growing ethical and legal concerns, OpenAI introduces new safety mechanisms that prevent the tool from copying the styles of living artists or generating images of public figures. Most notably, the company now allows artists to opt out of having their work used to train future OpenAI models, rolling out the tool to premium users starting in October.
