OpenAI Launches DALL-E 3 With ChatGPT Integration and Artist Opt-Out
OpenAI introduces DALL-E 3, a new image generator that uses ChatGPT to automatically write detailed prompts. The upgrade also allows artists to opt out of training data and improves the rendering of text and hands.
OpenAI unveils DALL-E 3, an upgraded text-to-image tool that integrates directly with ChatGPT to simplify the prompt creation process. Instead of requiring users to craft complex instructions, the chatbot takes basic requests and automatically expands them into highly descriptive prompts to guide the image generation.
The new model produces higher-quality artwork that accurately reflects longer prompts and successfully renders notoriously difficult elements like text and human hands. Additionally, OpenAI implements new safety measures that prevent the tool from generating images in the style of living artists or depicting public figures.
In a major move for creator rights, DALL-E 3 allows artists to opt out of having their work used to train future OpenAI models. The tool rolls out to ChatGPT Plus and Enterprise subscribers in October, entering a fiercely competitive market against rivals like Midjourney and Stability AI.
