Designed for professionals in finance, science, policy, and engineering, the tool also assists everyday consumers making major purchases. Instead of providing quick summaries, this agent thoroughly analyzes information across various websites to deliver comprehensive results.
The deep research feature is available immediately for ChatGPT Pro users with a limit of 100 queries per month. Plus and Team users gain access in about a month, followed by Enterprise customers, though the rollout excludes the U.K., Switzerland, and the European Economic Area for now. Users access the tool through the web composer, where queries take between five and thirty minutes to process before triggering a completion notification.
Currently, the agent produces text-only reports, but OpenAI plans to add data visualizations, embedded images, and connections to specialized subscription databases soon. To address concerns about AI hallucinations, the system provides fully documented outputs with clear citations and a summary of its reasoning.
