To lift the ban, OpenAI implements several new measures to comply with strict European Union privacy rules. The company adds detailed information to its website about how it collects and uses data to train its algorithms. Additionally, OpenAI provides a new form that allows EU users to easily object to their data being used for AI training.
The updated platform also includes a new tool to verify the ages of users during the signup process. Some Italian users already share screenshots of these changes, showing menu buttons that ask for age confirmation alongside links to updated privacy policies. OpenAI states that it remains dedicated to protecting user privacy as it navigates complex international regulations.
