OpenAI Unveils ChatGPT Pulse for Personalized Morning Briefs
OpenAI introduces Pulse, a new ChatGPT feature that generates customized morning reports while users sleep. The proactive tool is currently exclusive to $200 Pro subscribers but aims for a broader rollout soon.
OpenAI launches a new feature inside ChatGPT called Pulse, which generates personalized reports for users while they sleep. The tool provides five to ten briefs to help users start their day, aiming to make ChatGPT the first app people check in the morning just like social media or news apps.
Pulse represents a broader shift in OpenAI’s consumer products, moving from a reactive chatbot to a proactive assistant that works asynchronously. OpenAI's new CEO of Applications, Fidji Simo, states that this feature makes high-level support available to everyone, though CEO Sam Altman notes that these compute-intensive products currently require the company's most expensive subscription plan.
Starting Thursday, Pulse rolls out exclusively to subscribers of the $200-a-month Pro plan as a new tab in the ChatGPT app. The reports display as visual cards and range from news roundups about specific sports teams to highly personalized briefs like group Halloween costume suggestions or toddler-friendly travel itineraries, with plans to expand access to Plus and free users as server capacity improves.
