Access to this new marketplace requires a paid subscription, specifically ChatGPT Plus, ChatGPT Enterprise, or the recently introduced ChatGPT Team plan. Notable launch partners include AllTrails, Khan Academy, and Canva, all of which offer their GPTs for free at launch. Creating these custom bots requires no coding experience, as developers simply describe their desired capabilities in plain language to the GPT Builder tool.
Developers who wish to list their creations in the store must verify their profiles and pass a review system that combines automated and human moderation. While creators cannot charge for their GPTs at launch, OpenAI plans to introduce a revenue program in the first quarter that pays U.S. builders based on user engagement with their custom chatbots.
