OpenAI's DALL-E 2 Teaches Machines to See Like Humans

DALL-E 2 brings artificial intelligence to the masses through highly entertaining image generation. Users simply type a text prompt, such as a koala playing basketball, and the OpenAI engine creates a detailed visual representation of that exact scene.
Released in April, this upgraded system produces much more realistic and accurate images than the original 2021 version. It boasts four times the resolution of its predecessor, making the generated artwork remarkably crisp and detailed for its 1 million active users.
Co-inventor Aditya Ramesh explains that the tool exists for purposes far beyond simple amusement. The core mission of DALL-E 2 involves teaching artificial intelligence to understand the complex relationship between images and text, ultimately helping AI systems see the world the way humans do.
