Palantir and Anduril are organizing a new tech consortium to compete for Pentagon contracts, according to a recent Financial Times report. The two defense tech leaders are currently in talks with prominent companies such as SpaceX, OpenAI, Saronic, and Scale AI to join this collaborative effort. Their primary goal is to break the longstanding dominance of legacy "prime" defense contractors like Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, and Boeing.
Participants in the discussions describe the consortium as a way to provide a new generation of defense contractors to the U.S. government. By pooling their resources and expertise, these modern tech companies plan to offer a more efficient pipeline for selling cutting-edge weapons and artificial intelligence systems to the military. Initial partnerships and formal announcements regarding the consortium are expected as early as January.
This move follows a recent integration between Palantir’s AI Platform and Anduril’s Lattice software, which served as a public hint of their broader collaborative ambitions.
