Paris Family Office Launches $150 Million Resonance Venture Fund

Pierre-Edouard Stérin's Otium Capital unveils Resonance, a new $150 million VC fund led by two seasoned investors. The fund targets seed and Series A startups across Europe with a highly focused investment strategy.

A new venture capital fund named Resonance emerges from Paris with $150 million in capital. Otium Capital, the family office of Smartbox Group co-founder Pierre-Edouard Stérin, provides the entire backing for this new tech-focused vehicle. This move establishes Resonance as the primary venture arm for Otium Capital following the departure of its previous tech team to launch another fund in 2019.

Maxime Le Dantec and Alban Oudin lead the fund's daily operations, bringing significant experience from their previous roles at Balderton Capital and XAnge. Resonance targets seed and Series A startups across Europe, writing checks between €100,000 and €10 million. The fund maintains a flexible sector approach, allowing investments in enterprise software, fintech, web3, consumer products, and SaaS for small businesses.

Instead of deploying capital rapidly across many companies, Resonance adopts a deliberate strategy that limits the number of annual investments. This concentrated approach allows the team to offer hands-on support with critical tasks like hiring key executives and securing future funding rounds. Having a single backer gives Resonance unique flexibility, freeing the fund from the pressure of strict deployment timelines during uncertain economic conditions.
