This tech industry crackdown comes after Parler experiences a massive surge in new users following the permanent suspension of Donald Trump from Twitter and Facebook. Apple and Google already remove Parler from their respective app stores for violations of their terms of service regarding violence and incitement.
Parler indicates it plans to rebuild its infrastructure from scratch to overcome these suspensions, but rival platforms like Gab currently reap the benefits of Parler's sudden absence. Gab, which has a history of facing its own hosting and app store bans over hate speech, sees an influx of displaced users.
