Qualcomm Snapdragon Ride Platform Gains Major Automaker Traction
Qualcomm Technologies reports rapid adoption of its Snapdragon Ride Platform by global automakers for advanced driver assistance and automated driving systems. The next-generation 4nm chipset currently samples with major suppliers and targets 2025 production vehicles.
Qualcomm Technologies sees accelerated adoption of its Snapdragon Ride Platform as leading global automotive companies use the technology to develop safe and updateable advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and automated driving (AD) solutions. The first-generation platforms are currently available in commercial vehicles worldwide, while the next-generation platforms feature a 4nm system-on-chip (SoC) and an integrated Snapdragon Ride Vision stack to support both safety-critical systems and passenger comfort.
These platforms form a key pillar of the Snapdragon Digital Chassis solution, which enables automakers to deliver a connected, intelligent, and safer experience. The technology also explores opportunities for deeper customer engagement and service-based business models through a scalable hardware-software co-designed architecture. Furthermore, the new ADAS functions are currently sampling with all major Tier 1 suppliers and target integration into global production vehicles by 2025.
Working closely with safety experts across the automotive ecosystem, Qualcomm designs and assesses these platforms to meet the highest levels of automotive safety. The architecture allows for extensive customisation to adapt to evolving vehicle systems and incorporates dedicated artificial intelligence (AI) accelerators to support an expanding range of driving scenarios. Additionally, the platforms act as turnkey solutions that support multimodal sensors, including cameras and other critical hardware components.
