While artificial intelligence plays a growing role in clinical diagnosis, researchers spend massive amounts of time preparing data and annotating medical images. The Delaware-headquartered startup tackles this bottleneck by offering automated and semi-automated annotation tools that make the process up to 60% faster.
Founded by former SpaceX Hyperloop engineers, RedBrick AI provides browser-based tools that integrate directly with existing cloud storage systems like AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure. The platform features a configurable workflow system designed specifically for complex 3D medical imagery such as CT scans, X-rays, MRIs, and ultrasounds. Additionally, the startup offers APIs that allow machine learning engineers to connect the tools seamlessly with clinical data stores and hospital PACS servers.
The company views itself as the foundational layer for artificial intelligence in healthcare, with long-term goals of assisting teams from initial data preparation all the way to FDA clearance. Once properly annotated, this medical imagery enables faster diagnoses, powers surgical robots, and automates the detection of cancers. RedBrick AI currently operates with a seven-member team based mostly in India, but it focuses its marketing efforts primarily on the United States and Europe while competing mainly against open-source tools.
