RIAA Targets Discord AI Voice Server in Copyright Crackdown

The RIAA takes aggressive legal action against a popular Discord server known as "AI Hub," which boasts 145,000 members focused on creating AI voices and songs. Citing copyright infringement, music industry lawyers obtain a federal subpoena that demands Discord unmask the users involved in the unauthorized distribution of copyrighted sound recordings.
In a formal letter to Discord, the RIAA insists the tech company hand over identifying details including names, physical addresses, payment information, and IP addresses. The organization states that the activities on this server directly infringe upon the copyrighted sound recordings of its member labels and fundamentally undermine the entire music ecosystem.
Alongside the subpoena, the RIAA sends Digital Millennium Copyright Act takedown notices to Discord, demanding the immediate disablement of the server and the removal of all infringing material. The group also requires Discord to notify the server's users about the illegality of their conduct as the music industry intensifies its fight against disruptive AI technologies.
