A Canon demonstration satellite called CE-SAT-IIB also hitchhikes on the flight to show off a middle-size telescope equipped with an ultra-high sensitivity camera designed for nighttime Earth imaging. The launch experiences a brief delay from the previous week due to suspicious sensor data, but the backup date proceeds flawlessly. Rocket Lab confirms payload deployment about an hour after takeoff.
This successful mission represents the second launch since an electrical fault grounded the company in July and caused the loss of a previous payload. Rocket Lab's quick investigation and resolution allow them to resume flight operations in under a month.
