Salesforce Acquires AI Knowledge Platform Zoomin to Boost Data Cloud

Salesforce announces the acquisition of Zoomin, an enterprise knowledge platform that uses AI to unify company documentation. The purchase aims to enhance Salesforce's Data Cloud and automate customer service interactions.

Salesforce continues its aggressive acquisition strategy by purchasing Zoomin, an enterprise knowledge platform that unifies company documents like user guides and tutorials into a single portal. Although the financial terms of the deal remain undisclosed, Salesforce expects the transaction to officially close by the end of its fiscal year 2025 in late January, pending standard regulatory approvals.

Founded in 2019 in Israel, Zoomin utilizes artificial intelligence and big data to help businesses create self-service documentation search and support experiences. The startup serves a diverse roster of major clients, ranging from tech companies like McAfee and Dell to fast-food franchises such as Burger King and Popeyes. Prior to this acquisition, Zoomin successfully raises $73 million in capital from prominent investors, including General Atlantic, Bessemer Venture Partners, and Salesforce Ventures.

Following the acquisition, Salesforce plans to integrate Zoomin's technology directly into its Data Cloud platform to power advanced AI use cases, such as automating customer service interactions. Executive Rahul Auradkar emphasizes that proprietary unstructured data serves as powerful fuel for AI agents, and Zoomin's expertise naturally accelerates Data Cloud's innovation. This move directly aligns with Salesforce's recent pledge to invest an additional $500 million into AI startups through its venture arm.
