Salesforce Buys AI Search Startup Doti for Estimated $100M

Salesforce acquires Israeli AI search startup Doti to improve enterprise data retrieval and enhance Slack's search capabilities. The deal, estimated at $100 million, is expected to close by February.

Salesforce acquires Doti Ltd., an Israeli artificial intelligence search startup, in a deal that reports estimate at $100 million. The startup provides an AI platform that allows enterprise workers to quickly retrieve information from internal applications, including Salesforce's customer relationship management platform and Slack. Doti previously raised $7 million in funding and requires only 15 minutes for customers to connect its software to their existing applications.

The Doti platform refreshes its knowledge base 20 times a day to ensure information remains current and accurate. Employees can use the tool to find relevant case studies, locate past support tickets, and summarize revenue pipelines through customizable AI agents. The system automatically adjusts its prompt responses based on each user's role and strictly adheres to file access restrictions to protect sensitive company data.

Salesforce plans to integrate Doti's technology directly into Slack to enhance the messaging platform's built-in search features. Users currently interact with Doti through a web interface, a Chrome extension, an API, and a dedicated Slack integration. The Doti team will join Salesforce's AI engineering division in Israel, and the company expects to finalize the acquisition by February.
