Despite Altman's heavy involvement as a co-founder who talks to the team multiple times a week, Blania insists World operates independently from OpenAI.
The core mission of World focuses on proving humanity online as artificial intelligence makes it increasingly difficult to distinguish humans from bots. The project provides human verification services built on blockchain technology and aims to distribute AI-generated wealth to the public through its digital currency. Blania does not rule out the possibility of integrating World's cryptocurrency into ChatGPT in the future, even as he maintains that the two companies have very separate goals.

While Kenya concludes its investigation and allows operations to continue, ongoing probes in the European Union leave the project's future in that region uncertain.
