Sam's Club Rolls Out Same-Day Pickup to All U.S. Locations
Sam's Club now offers same-day pickup at nearly 600 U.S. stores, allowing members to order up to 15 items via its app or website. The service aims to compete with rival retailers by leveraging the company's physical footprint for fast, convenient online ordering.
Sam's Club introduces same-day Club Pickup at all of its nearly 600 U.S. locations, allowing members to order groceries and other goods through the company's website or mobile app. After checking out online, members receive a notification when their items are ready, typically within four hours or less. The service includes a variety of products such as electronics, paper goods, alcohol, and fresh produce, with fruits and meats standing out as the most popular choices.
Unlike similar programs from Walmart, Target, and Whole Foods, this new pickup option comes with a strict 15-item limit per order. This restriction makes logistical sense for a warehouse club that traditionally serves bulk buyers, as employees lack the time to assemble massive orders on the same day. However, this cap potentially limits the usefulness of the service and risks driving customers to competitors who do not enforce such purchasing boundaries.
The pickup window opens at 10 AM Monday through Friday and at 9 AM on Saturday, while Plus members gain access to exclusive early hours between 7 AM and 10 AM on weekdays. Select locations feature dedicated drive-up areas where staff load items directly into the trunk of the customer's car. This rollout represents Sam's Club's latest effort to challenge Amazon by utilizing its vast brick-and-mortar network for rapid online order fulfillment.
