Google and Samsung are bringing advanced AI capabilities to the new Samsung Galaxy S24 series through a deep integration of Google's Gemini models. By utilizing Gemini Pro, the Galaxy S24 enhances familiar Samsung applications like Notes, Voice Recorder, and Keyboard with highly accurate summarization features. For instance, users easily record a lecture and receive an automatic summary of the key points directly on their device.
The new smartphones also incorporate Imagen 2, Google's advanced text-to-image technology, to power Generative Edit within the Galaxy S24 Gallery app for seamless photo modifications. Furthermore, the devices feature Gemini Nano, an efficient on-device model that drives a new AI feature in Google Messages while ensuring all user data remains securely on the smartphone.
Beyond these core integrations, the partnership introduces a completely new way to search on mobile and adds fresh functionalities to Android Auto. Samsung also acts as an early tester for Gemini Ultra, Google's most complex model designed for highly demanding tasks, ahead of its broader public release later this year.
