Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2020 Promises New Foldable Phone and Flagship S20

Samsung's February Unpacked event showcases a expanding Galaxy brand beyond just smartphones. The highly anticipated Galaxy S20 and the newly confirmed clamshell-style Galaxy Z Flip take center stage.

Samsung kicks off its annual Galaxy Unpacked event in San Francisco, livestreaming the showcase for mobile fans around the world. The Galaxy brand now extends well beyond traditional smartphones, and this February presentation highlights that broader ecosystem of devices.

The star of the show is undoubtedly the new Samsung Galaxy S20 flagship, which brings a massive list of improvements over previous models. Alongside the S20, Samsung officially confirms the Galaxy Z Flip, a new clamshell-style foldable phone that folds down into a compact shape similar to a makeup compact.

Unlike the original Galaxy Fold, the Z Flip adopts a traditional flip-phone design and even allows users to half-unfold the device for easier video calls. However, rumors suggest the Z Flip uses the older Snapdragon 855 processor rather than the newer Snapdragon 865, placing it a step behind the flagship S20 in raw performance.
