Silicon Valley Enterprise Accelerator Alchemist Raises $2.5 Million

Alchemist, known as the "Y Combinator of Enterprise," secures $2.5 million in funding led by Juniper Networks ahead of its 20th demo day. The accelerator boasts impressive portfolio stats, including over $556 million raised by its startups and 25 successful acquisitions.

Alchemist, a Silicon Valley accelerator focused exclusively on enterprise startups, raises $2.5 million in a new funding round led by Juniper Networks. Siemens’ venture capital arm Next47 also participates in the investment, which arrives just before the accelerator hosts its 20th demo day. Originally launched in 2012 as an experiment by former Draper Fisher Jurvetson investor Ravi Belani, the program now holds a strong reputation as the "Y Combinator of Enterprise."

The program provides six months of mentorship and a $36,000 initial investment to accepted teams that build technical solutions for business customers rather than consumers. Alchemist reports impressive numbers from its graduates, noting that 115 portfolio companies collectively raise $556 million in subsequent venture capital deals. Additionally, 25 of its startups experience successful acquisitions, with S4 Capital's $150 million purchase of MightyHive standing as the largest exit to date.

Notable alumni from the accelerator include quantum computing company Rigetti Computing, feature management platform LaunchDarkly, and drone startup Matternet. Nineteen new startups prepare to showcase their enterprise technologies onstage at the upcoming demo day. This latest financial boost follows previous venture rounds, including a $2 million raise led by GE in 2017 and an undisclosed investment from Salesforce.
