Snap Introduces My AI Chatbot for Snapchat Plus Subscribers

Snap launches an OpenAI-powered chatbot called My AI for its paid Snapchat+ users. The experimental feature offers recommendations but comes with a warning about potential inaccuracies.

Snap rolls out a new chatbot named My AI exclusively to its Snapchat+ subscribers, relying on technology from OpenAI. The feature integrates directly into the social app and allows users to customize the bot's name and chat background to suit their personal style.

The chatbot performs various everyday tasks, such as suggesting gift ideas, planning weekend activities, and recommending recipes. However, Snap openly warns users that the experimental feature contains deficiencies and admits the bot can potentially be tricked into saying just about anything.

This release follows recent AI-backed product launches from major tech rivals like Microsoft and Google. Snap CEO Evan Spiegel expresses a strong belief in this technology, stating that people will soon talk to AI every day just as they communicate with friends and family.
