SoftBank Vision Fund Leads $225M Investment in Travel Platform Klook

Hong Kong-based travel activities platform Klook raises $225 million in a Series D plus round led by SoftBank's Vision Fund. The company plans to leverage this new capital and SoftBank's ecosystem to expand its global reach and partner with other major startups.

Hong Kong-based travel services platform Klook raises $225 million in a new funding round led by SoftBank's Vision Fund. The deal, classified as a Series D plus, comes just eight months after the company secured $200 million at a unicorn valuation. While Klook declines to share its exact new valuation, its co-founder confirms that the figure has increased with this latest investment.

Klook operates a comprehensive platform where travelers discover and book overseas activities, ranging from adventure park visits and scuba diving to local food tours and airport transfers. The company currently offers 100,000 activities across more than 270 destinations worldwide, supported by a growing team of over 1,000 staff spread across 20 global offices.

Although Klook already maintains a strong lead in funding over rivals like KKday, Peek, and GetYourGuide, the company accepts SoftBank's investment to tap into a broader startup ecosystem. Klook sees significant synergistic potential with other Vision Fund-backed companies, specifically naming ride-hailing giant Grab, hospitality firm OYO, and e-commerce platforms Coupang and Tokopedia as potential partners.
