Sony surprises attendees at CES 2020 by unveiling the Vision-S, an electric car concept designed to showcase the electronics company’s expertise in mobility technologies. This unexpected reveal highlights Sony's new Vision-S initiative, which focuses heavily on the future of transportation and smart mobility solutions.
The driverless sedan features 33 embedded sensors that monitor both the interior and exterior of the vehicle to ensure safety. This array of technology enables advanced capabilities such as self-parking, cruise control, and automatic lane changes, while an ultra-wide monitor and 360 reality audio provide an immersive entertainment experience for passengers.
Powered by two 200 kilowatt motors, the Vision-S accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in about 4.5 seconds. Despite its impressive performance specs, Sony does not confirm plans for commercial production, keeping the vehicle strictly as a demonstration of its electronic and technological capabilities.
