This decision follows a warning from the FBI's Boston office about "zoombombing," where unauthorized individuals invade public meetings. Additionally, a report from The Intercept reveals that Zoom does not use true end-to-end encryption, meaning the company potentially has the ability to view user sessions.
The ban highlights the unique challenges SpaceX faces as an essential defense contractor that must protect sensitive national security technology while keeping over 6,000 employees safe during the coronavirus pandemic. NASA, which is one of SpaceX's biggest customers, also prohibits its employees from using the popular video platform.
