The 230-foot-tall rocket blasts off at the beginning of its 90-minute launch window, carrying its heavy payload toward a geosynchronous transfer orbit.
Approximately nine minutes after liftoff, the rocket's first stage returns to Earth and touches down on the drone ship "A Shortfall of Gravitas." This landing marks a historic milestone for the company, as all three of SpaceX's massive floating landing pads are deployed on missions at the exact same time for the first time ever.
