Spotify Tests AI Playlist Feature for Premium Users
Spotify introduces AI Playlist in beta, allowing Premium users in the UK and Australia to generate customized playlists from text prompts. The new tool uses AI and personalization technology to turn creative ideas into tailored music mixes.
Spotify launches AI Playlist in beta, giving Premium users in the United Kingdom and Australia a new way to create customized music mixes. This tool allows listeners to type unique text prompts into a chat interface to effortlessly generate playlists based on almost any idea.
The feature accepts a wide variety of prompts, including references to places, animals, activities, movie characters, colors, and emojis. Spotify notes that the most successful playlists come from prompts combining genres, moods, artists, or decades, such as requesting an indie folk playlist to give your brain a warm hug.
Users access AI Playlist through the Your Library section of the Spotify mobile app by tapping the plus button. After the AI generates a selection of tracks, listeners preview, delete, or refine the songs by requesting adjustments like more pop or less upbeat before saving the final playlist.
