The company announces this release at the annual AWS Summit New York, highlighting a strong partnership with Amazon to provide powerful generative AI tools to developers and clients.
Unlike text-focused models, SDXL 1.0 specializes in generating highly photorealistic images with improved face generation, vibrant colors, and superior lighting. Users create detailed pictures using simple text prompts, and they can also utilize image-to-image prompts, inpainting to reconstruct missing parts, and outpainting to extend existing images.
The new model produces full 1-megapixel resolution images in various aspect ratios and runs efficiently on relatively simple hardware. Because of its open-source nature and accessible hardware requirements, SDXL 1.0 offers a much more flexible and attainable solution for image generation compared to competing proprietary models.
